The University of Cyprus (UCY) is the first public university in Cyprus
established in 1992. The UCY is the largest University in the island and hosts
a number of research units and centres like the Oceanography Centre, the Centre
for Banking and Financial Research, the Economics Research Centre, KIOS
Research Centre for Intelligent Systems and Networks, a Nanotechnology Research
Centre and the Archaeological Research Unit.

University of Technology (CUT) is a new, public and independent University with
an orientation towards applied research. The University aspires to establish
itself to confront problems, which cover all areas of science and technology.

University of Cyprus (www.ouc.ac.cy). The Open
University of Cyprus (OUC) is the islands second state university and has ten
dynamic Study Courses. It aims to become an attractive, regional, educational
institution and its research strategy emphasises the importance of both basic
and applied research.

of Nicosia

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is a private university in Cyprus, with over
3,500 students. Over the years UNIC has been adopting a dynamic and proactive
strategy on funded research and reaches out to all its stakeholders working
with them in developing ideas for academic and applied research.

The European University Cyprus (EUC) is one of the oldest private higher educational
institutions in Cyprus. EUC operates a number of research centres and units,
like the Centre of Applied Research, the Foundation of European, Social and
Political Studies and thε Centre for the Study of Childhood and Adolescence
with significant success in conducting innovative research through nationally
and European - funded research programmes.

The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a non-profit science and technology research and
educational institution. Formally established in 2005, started its operations
in September 2007. It consists of three research centres: the Energy,
Environment and Water Research Centre (EEWRC), the Science and Technology in
Archaeology Research Centre (STARC) and the Computation-based Science and
Technology Research Centre (CaSToRC).

The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING) is a bicommunal,
non-profit institution, with specialised services and research in neurology,
genetics, DNA forensics, molecular biology, histopathology and virology.
Services and research aim towards early detection and prevention of disease,
the provision of high quality medical services and in general improvement in
the quality of life of the community.
Agricultural

Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) was established in 1962 and is one of the
Departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment.
The Institute conducts research directly applicable to the broad field of
agriculture and livestock in order to solve problems facing the farming world.

Office Cyprus (http://eoc.org.cy). The European Office Cyprus (EOC) is a non
profit, non-governmental organisation based in Nicosia, with a representation
office in Brussels. It consists of 22 organisations from a wide spectrum of
sectors and interests, such as academic institutions, local authorities,
banking and legal sector, as well as the cultural, tourism and youth. The
European Office Cyprus aims to offer support to its members, so they can use to the maximum the funding and development opportunities offered by the European Union.

advice at EU, national, regional and local levels.
ARTos
Cultural and Research Foundation (www.artosfoundation.org/eng). The ARTos Cultural and Research
Foundation (ARTos) was founded in 2000 and it is a contemporary arts and
science centre dedicated to research and creativity. Its premises, both
transcendental and material, inspire the contemporary artist/creator and the
scientist/creator alike, offering to both a platform, promoting them at a local
as well as at an international level, with quality being the main criterion.

The ROTA Children’s Museum (ROTA) aims to the emotional development and socialization of children through interactive contact with exhibits that concern the environment, emotions, history, culture, science and technology. It provides continuous opportunities and interactive exhibits for creative action for children, parents and teachers.

The Cyprus Astronomical Society is a registered, non-profit organization established in 1990 by a group of professional and amateur
astronomers living in Cyprus. It is dedicated to raising the public’s
awareness about the science of astronomy and brings people near astronomy. In order to promotes its targets, the
Society organise events for observing the stellar phenomena, open to the
public, as well as seminars and lectures.
